2005-08 Strategic Planning Process: Vision and Strategic Directions
Founded in 1961 under Chapter 78, Sections C and D of the Massachusetts General Laws, the Western Massachusetts Regional Library System (WMRLS) is a part of a state plan of regional library service administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC), the state library agency. The System is operated by a non-profit corporation and governed by a Council of Members representing the Region's member libraries. The annual operating budget and Plan of Service are approved by the Council of Members and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
